Design update - We are nearly there!! Latest designs included!!

We are soooo close! 

After hundreds of hours (well done Matt!!) we are now very close to our final maps!

The only thing that remains is to add the last details (things like drains, skeletons, abandoned armour & weapons, barrels and of course a few surprises!!!) We will also tweak the colour palette on the entry/exit points so they flow through a little more seamlessly from design to design.

Following your amazing feedback we will not be theming many of our rooms so they are as reusable as possible! You will be able to customise the Dungeon using the tokens/decals, and of course the pages are wipe clean too.

We have also focused on adding rooms and corridors into the designs as well as keeping a few open areas for larger encounters.

And finally we have finalised the running order for the pages!  

So here they are! The (almost) final designs in the final running order for both Dungeon books!  - 

As you can see there are complimentary double page spreads in the same position in each book which together create that epic 2'x2' play area. You can mix and match however you like from there :-)

What happens next?

Second week of June we will open our pledge manager (we will use BackerKit). As a reminder you must fill in your BackerKit survey or we won't be able to ship your pledge!!!!!!!! You will receive a link when BackerKit is open.

As a reminder BackerKit is where - 

• You confirm or change your pledge level
• You tell us your shipping address
• You select any add-on products you would like
• We charge for shipping and for any add-ons

Next key steps - 

We will order our final sample from our printers! This is so we can approve the designs and running order.

We will share the digital files with you as soon as they are complete (we will use DriveThru RPG). This will be before we go to print so there is still time to feedback! At this point we would not be planning to make any changes but we still want to hear what you think and if anything comes up a lot we will of course action it! 

Once we have double double double checked everything we will go to print! When this happens we will send out a technical update for those of you who like all the details on manufacture, from paper prep and dehumidification right through to shrink wrapping :-)

Your free encounter map for high sea adventures

Hello all,

In order to celebrate the release of official ship rules for 5E we are releasing a new RPG Battle Map. To say thank you for your support we will be giving you this map for free :-)

You will receive a code via email from DriveThruRPG ([email protected]) which links to your free map. You can then download at your leisure once it's in your DriveThruRPG library; the map is suitable for printing and VTT use, and comes with the option of 1" grid or hex overlay, 1.5" grid or hex overlay or no overlay. 

We hope this will also give those of you who are not familiar with DriveThruRPG  the chance to get to know the platform ahead of the release of The Dungeon digital files (we will be using DriveThruRPG to get these files to you, as well as the add-on digital bundles which will be available in Backerkit).

It also seems a good opportunity to give you an update on what we have been doing.

Matt has been head down moving the designs forwards. We will be sharing an update on the designs shortly once Matt is happy with them! Spoiler - they are looking pretty amazing!

We are working on the Pledge Manager (Backerkit) survey. As a reminder Backerkit will open in the second week of June once Kickstarter has finished charging everyone's cards and sent us your pledge information. Backerkit is where - 

• You confirm or change your pledge level
• You tell us your shipping address
• You select any add-on products you would like
• We charge for shipping and for any add-ons

When Backerkit is open we will send you a link to your survey. In the coming days we will also send out more updates on what to expect in Backerkit, what you can add onto your order and how to change your pledge level.

What Happens Next - Your timeline for The Dungeon.

Now our Kickstarter has closed I just wanted to recap the next steps so you know what to expect.

What Happens Next?

So you can see what our schedule is below is a timeline for what will happen next. The main point to remember is that the pledge manager (Backerkit) is a vital part of the Kickstarter which will open in the second week of June. Backerkit is  where - 

• You confirm or change your pledge level
• You tell us your shipping address
• You select any add-on products you would like
• We charge for shipping and for any add-ons

You will receive a link when Backerkit goes live w/c 10 June! 

We have built a timeline to take us from Kickstarter close to fulfilment, however it is worth mentioning that dates may change slightly, we will keep you updated every step of the way.

So our draft timeline is as follows - 

• Kickstarter closes - 11 May
• Kickstarter charges your cards - 11 May - 26 May approx
• We create and test the pledge manager (Backerkit) - 11 May - 7 June
• Backerkit opens - w/c 10 June
• We produce our final sample books and approve - June
• We approve the final designs - June/July
• We have collected enough Backerkit surveys to give print numbers to the printers - End June
• We fulfil digital pledges - July
• We commence the print run  - July
• We finish printing and ship the books & Add-ons to our fulfilment centres - August
• Your books are shipped from our fulfilment centres to you - September

We are currently reviewing the entries for the Social Media competition and we will be announcing the winner shortly!

Next steps - Charging cards and the Pledge Manager

Firstly thank you all again for your support, Matt and I are humbled by how big this Kickstarter got!!

Now we have closed there a few things to highlight.

Kickstarter are currently in the process of charging your cards. If you have any questions about this process, or any concerns, or your card has declined the best course of action is to contact Kickstarter support and they will be able to help.

It can take up to 2 weeks to charge your card so please don’t worry if it is not immediate.

What happens next?

The next stage is the pledge manager. We will be working on this over the coming weeks.

We will be using Backerkit as our pledge manager, and in a nutshell Backerkit is where 

• You confirm or change your pledge level
• You tell us your shipping address
• You select any add-on products you would like
• We charge for shipping and for any add-ons

We collect all the information on your shipping details and add-ons through the Backerkit survey, its ABSOLUTELY VITAL you complete your survey otherwise we won't be able to ship your pledge!!!

We are aiming to send out the surveys in the second week of June. 

Just so you know we will be smoke testing the Backerkit on a few dozen of you to ensure everything is working as it should, once Backerkit is live we won't be able to make changes (as this really unfair to people who have already completed their survey) so we are going to take the time to ensure its 1/right and 2/nice and straightforwards for you guys!

I will still be here so if you have any questions please reach out in messages or comments. Just to pre warn you if your question is about card payments I will have to refer you to Kickstarter as we have no part in that process.

In the days before our Backerkit survey is launched we will be keeping you in the loop with what is going on.

We had a LOT of questions about preorders, add-ons, pledge changes, multiple pledges and digital fulfillment so I will be covering these subjects in a series of in depth updates in the coming days which should hopefully answer all your questions. Of course if there is anything you are not sure about then please reach out.
