Ahoy Adventurers! The Books are sailing on their way towards the fulfilment hubs!
Asia Hub - The books will travel to a consolidator who will fulfil orders directly (i.e. pick pack and post to backers in countries served by the Asia hubs). We will let you know when this process starts.
Australia Hub - The books will travel to a consolidator who will put together a shipping container with other stock and dispatch to the Australia Hub from there. We will let you know when the Australia Hub, Aetherworks, receives the stock.
UK, EU & Rest of World - The books are sailing towards you! The ship name is AL MURAYKH 010Wan The Books will travel by sea to the UK and then transfer to GamesQuest who will pick, pack and dispatch orders. You can track the ship as it travels, and we will let you know when the books reach the UK hub.
US - The books are sailing towards you! The ship name is MSC Hamburg (VJZ). They will travel by sea to the US, where they will transfer to Quartermaster Logistics who will be handling the pick, pack and post stage. We will let you know when the books arrive at Quartermaster. You can track the ship as it travels.
Canada - The Books will travel with the US stock, we will update you when they reach the port and you can follow their journey from there!
USA Hub - This will manage fulfilment for the USA.

As a reminder we will not be synchronising the global Kickstarter fulfilment, in other words as soon as the hubs have the books we have instructed them to pick, pack and post to you ASAP. This means that we expect backers served by the Asia and Australia hubs will receive their books first, followed by UK and Rest of World, then the US and Canada.

If you are one of the 90 who are yet to complete your survey - You must be fed up of my emails by now :-) Please complete ASAP! At this stage I cannot guarantee I can send your order from your local regional hub as stock is split and en-route to the hubs. This means I may have to add you to "rest of world" and ship you from the UK hub. If you are unsure please contact me and I will look into your individual situation (for some countries shipping from the UK will incur customs fees).

The Books are now counted, quality approved, packed and palleted and everything is now starting to move.
We have spent the time since the last update rather in the thick of it coordinating with freight forwarders, the factory and our logistics partner GamesQuest to make sure all the paperwork is done and everyone involved knows exactly what is going on, how each shipment will work and getting all the details right.
We are shipping 70 pallets of over 24,000 books weighing over 35 metric tonnes. It's been a lot of work to plan moving this amount of stock and it has taken longer than we imagined due to the number of people involved in planning the operation!
We have also been updating address changes in the shipping plans and everyone is triple checking the data for any errors to make sure we get it right. Happily we are yet to find any problems but it REALLY pays to check!
A brief summary of what is happening -

US - The Books are en-route to the dock, we are working to book ships and shipping lanes. Apologies to make you wait for ship names. It turns out that getting the books onto ships is quite a short notice affair, they don't hang around at the docks and use the first available ship, so we will probably find out ship names once they are already loaded and underway.
This next bit only applies to EU backers -
One question which came up from our last update was the issue of the UK, customs and EU backers.
To reiterate this Kickstarter has EU friendly fulfilment. Currently that means we can use a UK hub to fulfil to the EU with no customs charges as the UK is currently in the customs union with the EU. Should this change GamesQuest have plans which we can put in place to ensure fulfilment remains EU friendly. Due to the recent extension to Brexit (the UK leaving the EU) we are not expecting any new developments here during our fulfilment phase, but we are fully prepared for any eventuality.

This update is a quick catch up on what has been happening since our last update.
The Printers have been hard at work packing boxes and getting everything counted and onto pallets ahead of the books leaving the factory to start their journey to you.
Ships and shipping lanes are being booked, and transport organised to take the books from the printers to the docks.
Fun Fact - overall we are shipping over 25,000 books and 14,000 sticker sheets (insert "we're going to need a bigger boat" joke here.....). We are frankly a little humbled by the support for The Dungeon, and we are thrilled it will be heading off worldwide!

We have mentioned before we are using 5 regional hubs for fulfillment. (As a reminder this means we ship the books from the factory to the regional hub, who then pick, pack and post your pledge rewards to you). Remember we are not coordinating fulfillment to be the same worldwide - we will fulfill as soon as the hubs are ready to, so some of you will receive your books before others. The hubs will order their picking and packing in the most efficient way for their set up - this could be country, pledge level etc, so again this will affect the order in which people receive their pledges.
As I mentioned previously, we will be putting out weekly updates throughout the fulfillment phase. Some of these updates will have more news than others, but we want to stay in touch so you know what stage we're at and when to expect your books.
And finally we will be at Essen Spiel in Germany this week. If you are there we will have a copy of the VERY FIRST The Dungeon Books of Battle Mats off the main print run and we would love to show it to you. Come and find us in Hall 6 Stand G122 and tell us about your adventures!
